Simplifying the creation of multilingual, interactive events with Eventdrive

About PSI

The Public Services International (PSI) is a global union federation bringing together over 700 unions in 154 countries, representing 30 million workers.

It amplifies their voices in organizations such as the UN, the ILO, and the WHO to defend trade union rights, human rights, and advocate for universal access to quality public services.

Challenges of implementing Eventdrive at PSI

Initially, the federation faced the challenge of increasing audience engagement during its World Congresses. In 2017, the Communications team used Eventdrive's interactive application for the first time at its 30th World Congress. 

Since 2018, the organization has also used the platform to digitize, centralize, and simplify event management.

How PSI uses Eventdrive

Key strategies

Today, the federation primarily uses Eventdrive to organize statutory meetings and annual conferences. The platform notably allows them to:

  • Quickly create websites in multiple languages
  • Customize the branding of their events
  • Manage registrations and participants smoothly and independently
  • Communicate by email with an international audience around the event

The platform also lets them:

  • Share confidential documents without making them public on their main website
  • Boost participant engagement through interactive features during large-scale events

A dedicated account manager is also available to the federation to support them in using the tool.

Organizing PSI's 31st World Congress

Six years after the previous edition, the federation organized its 31st World Congress with Eventdrive — covering website creation and participant management as well as the mobile app and interactive features.

The event welcomed around 1,400 people in Geneva (including staff, the technical team, and interpreters).

The Congress was interpreted into 17 languages, and the event was translated on Eventdrive into its 6 official languages (English, French, Spanish, German, Swedish, and Japanese).

In total, more than 8,000 visitors came to the website, generating close to 34,000 views (data from the August–October period).

The interactive app also generated numerous exchanges and reactions:

  • 896 people connected to the app
  • 520 contributions, including 487 photos via the Instaphoto feature

  • More than 23,000 views of the app during the Congress period (October 12–18, 2023)
